hi there peeps...here i am blogging again...anyway...the days without wendy in the office is simply marvellous..no -one to nag at me, or meddle with my work..but freddie has high expectations of me, as in if he assigns me some stuff, i have to make sure that i do it, and complete it...yea..but that' s e good part i suppose?have to prove myself or something?haa..he's quite a good boss,just that sometimes he's not in office, and stuff...which is good AND bad..wuahaha...but it's been pretty peaceful and stuff.which is very good..hee...
anyway...have to settle the important documents for the renewal of my three FARs, my boss just submitted his application today...yeah..so left two...hopefully they give it to me by tomorrow,latest wednesday?haa..cause the deadline is Wed..27th may..the person sent e e-mail informing us was 20th?like wth?what if the fars or secretaries are on holiday, or in hospital?like hello?don't they use their brain?i guess they don have one?haa...sorry...
weather's been pretty hot nowadays...sweating these few days...especially at night?humid weather i suppose?haa...on weekdays i'll on the fan, because if i switch on the air-con, it'll be harder for me to get up..haa..because it's so cold, comfy and the atmosphere for sleeping in, is just nice..haa...so that's e reason why..unless i can sleep in or whatever..haa...like on weekends or when i'm on leave..haa...yeap..i still have 14 days left..maybe will take one week break..haa..i'm evil... cause i seriously need a break?it's been so stressful ever since Wendy left..because i have to settle stuff from advisers and new managers(tommy) and yea...my body needs a break?yeah..that's it for me..will update soon..see you!

so anyway i attended the animal welfare symposium held by ACRES,which stands for animal concerns research and environmental society, of which i hugely support...other than SPCA, which stands for society for prevention of cruelty to animals...yeapp..anyway..it started at 9am...the first session was about wild animals in entertainment..such as pink dolphins, elephants and circus animals...such as birds, monkeys, seals and polar bears etc...well...they stressed on the pt, that perfomances by animals are to be of natural behaviour...meaning that they must act as though they are in their natual habitat...that is not the case for such animals...such are them are tortured, living in very bad conditions without proper food and water for them to survive. thai elephants for example, are being hit by the ankus...by the person sitting on 'em...for them to "perform" or "behave" properly...or to the expectations of the humans, tourist or to their rules? hmm...wellll, they showed a few videos bah...and it was pretty disturbing...like how they used a tiger for photography purporses...like hitting the tiger with a stick...on its' paws, and neck..it's seriously disturbing..e tiger was seriously agitated...if it wasn't tied, it would have killed that guy mann....e ankus too..it's used on e most sensitive part of e elephant...yea..didn't know that...
they also brought in the zoo...because some of the animals are kept in enclosures, for people to look at them...and might not have enough space for them to roam around etc?on whether more effort could be done in improving the animal welfare in the zoos...such as the living conditions and stuff...so the public could bring in their feedback, suggestions and opinions...most of them talked about the Singapore Zoo..and to stop animal shows, and stuff like that..not so much wildlife, such as dolphins, monkey and circus animals etc...
the second session was on domestic animals..such as cats,dogs,rabbits, turtles and hamsters....the growing rate of abandoned or strays pets roaming around, or just left somewhere for some kind soul to pick them up...and e growing number of puppy farms...whereby puppies are sold to customers, after they have bred...whether or not they are approved breed of puppies or allowed in HDB flats..and if HDB does not approve of their breed of dog in their HDB flats..they hv no choice but to abandon 'em, or throw them downstairs their flats for example...so like yea...and a lot of issues were raised and stuff la..like keeping medium sized dogs in flats, as well as cats?yeapp..which i feel that HDB can play a part in..and stuff like dat...so they were thinking of asking HDB as well as the National Parks Board for next year's symposium..which is a huge step from tis year's...welll...they are definitely not open to this idea...maybe because not many of the residents are not animal lovers...or whatever...well, the ASD (Action for Singapore Dogs), as well as CWS ( Cat Welfare Society)..i didn't know such animal welfare groups existed?hee...well, really opened up my eyes, that some pple in Singapore does care about the well-being of animals and stuff...really made me become more aware of the animals in Singapore. well, learn a lot of things from this session..
after that were presentations...still kind of interesting..but e pple suck at presenting?cause they're secondary as well as Junior College students...well...but their presentations were great...i guess...learnt a lot too..wuahaha...made me become more aware, and to make a difference in the situation in Singapore...other than swine flu..that is..hee...
well..e public forum was great...dragged for more than an hour...alot of issues were brought up, but some of 'em were not discussed, and addressed properly?hmm...but i guess, it was a huge success..i believe for me la...bought a tee from ACRES...haa..will wear it out someday?something about wild animals in entertainment? and stuff..cute picture of a dolphin...haa...than went to yew tee pt for dinner w grandma...picked up a laptop, e person left behind...so brought it with us..scared pple take ma...was tinking of taking it actually...but e owner called, so bo bian hv to return...it seems like a new latop though...hee...haa...i could use a better laptop?haa... :)..but i gave it back..not mine anyway right?haa... that's it for me...see ya guys soon...byee~! :)
